The city of Coronado is located in San Diego, California. The city is best known for its beautiful beaches and the Coronado state park. 

The city was established in 1890 and the population was 12,743 at the 2010 census. The city is known for its many parks and its proximity to the ocean and the city of Santa Barbara. The city is also known for its natural beauty, a large number of golf courses in the region, as well as its proximity to a number of state and national parks.

The city is located on a peninsula and is surrounded by the ocean on three sides. This location has served to make the city a popular destination for people in the region and the world. The city is named after a former Spanish governor, Juan Bautista de Anza, who was given the land by the Spanish king in 1774. 

The city was first populated in 1887 when the area was known as Santa Barbara Junction. The city was officially incorporated on December 19, 1892. The city’s first mayor was Fred B. Carpenter who, in a controversial move, took office in 1892, while the city was still under construction.
